Basic HVACR & EPA Certification & Refrigerant Recovery

$2,475.00

Our comprehensive 5-day HVACR course introduces crucial fundamentals on HVACR Systems, while preparing students for the EPA Section 608 exam.

We offer targeted training for electricians and mechanics looking to enhance their skills in maintaining HVACR systems. This course is tailored for individuals with limited experience, focusing on the safe handling and maintenance of equipment containing regulated refrigerants.

The EPA Exam covers four sections:

Core - Encompasses general knowledge, safety, regulations, and identification, required for all types.

Type I (Small Appliances) - Focuses on servicing refrigerators, freezers, and window A/C units.

Type II (High/Very High-Pressure Systems) - Involves equipment like residential and commercial ACs, heat pumps, process chillers, and supermarket systems.

Type III (Low-Pressure Systems) - Pertains to large-capacity systems such as centrifugal chillers using refrigerants like HCFC-123 or CFC-11.

Successfully passing all four sections will grant you a “Universal License,” essential for handling refrigerants. This license is also necessary for progressing to any other classes, as refrigerant handling is a requirement in all subsequent courses.

In the U.S., obtaining the Section 608 (EPA Card Universal License) is legally required for students to handle refrigerants.

Hands-On Experience

Practical Skills: 25% of the course is devoted to hands-on laboratory experience, enabling participants to gain essential skills for their careers.

Exam Details: The exam is conducted online; please bring a laptop, tablet, iPad, or another internet-capable device (excluding phones).

Immediate Results: Exam results are available right away, and the actual license will be mailed within 2–6 weeks after the exam. If you pass only two sections of the exam, you will have the opportunity to retest before leaving our facility.
